Keto Snacks

With so many people jumping into the bandwagon of the “ketogenic diet” right now, more and more people are beginning to wonder if this diet plan is for them. Even if you’re not on a ketogenic diet, not seeing keto-specific food popping up in your supermarket would be hard-pressed.

Marketers are on the fact that the ketogenic diet does not seem to go where they wanted it and they are beginning to make keto-friendly snacks “ready to go.” Do you have to indulge? are these Keto Snacks right for you?

Here are a few things about keto items to keep in mind…

1. Calories Matter.

First of all, take calories into account here more than anything else. Too many people are jumping into including keto snacks in their eating plan without worrying or looking at the count of calories. When you eat a 400-calorie snack that will have to be taken into account somewhere!

Compare this to a non-traditional 100-calorie keto snack like an apple, and what do you think is better for your weight loss plan? To help balance it out more, you could even add some peanut butter to the apple and you would still be below 200 calories, much less than the calories in the keto snack.

2. Keto does not need to mean “friendly weight loss.”

Please, note that keto doesn’t guarantee a pleasant weight loss. While many people are using the ketogenic diet to lose weight, as noted above, you still need to worry about calories. Some people use this diet for health reasons, and they are better marketed by many of these snacks because they don’t watch their calories so heavily.

Just because a company says it’s keto doesn’t mean it’s intended to help you lose weight. The ketogenic diet is a low-carbon, high-fat diet that significantly reduces the consumption of food, replacing it with fat.

3. Check Nutrition.

Ultimately, bear in mind diet as well. If the keto snack is heavily processed as many are, and as one intends in their eating plan to replace some of the processed high carb snacks, they are not always safe. A chocolate bar is never a good choice, regardless of whether or not it is a keto bar. So don’t lose common sense just because you see the word “keto.”

When you bear these points in mind, you should be better prepared to decipher keto product marketing to make sure they don’t steer you away from your healthy eating path.
