The first big problem with the ketogenic diet is you’ll be seriously lacking in dietary fibre. From this programme, nearly all vegetables are cut (apart from the very low-carb varieties), and fruits are definitely not allowed. High fibre grains are also out of the equation, so this leaves you with primary protein and fats-two foods containing no fibre at all.

2. You’ll Be Low In Energy.
Another big issue with the ketogenic diet is that you’re going to be low in resources to do your workout programme. Your body can only use glucose as a source of fuel for very intense exercise and if you don’t take carbohydrates, you won’t have glucose on hand.
Therefore, the ketogenic diet is not for anyone who wants to lead an active lifestyle with regular workout sessions.
3. You May Suffer Brain Fog.
Those who use the ketogenic diet might also find they are suffering from brain fog. This is again thanks to the fact that your brain primarily works off glucose.
Some people may find they start to feel better after a week or two of using the diet as their brain can switch to using ketone bodies as a source of fuel, but others may never find that they start to feel better.
All in all, for that very reason this diet simply doesn’t work for some people.
4. Your Antioxidant Status Will Decline.
Last but not least, the last problem with the ketogenic diet is due to lack of fruit and vegetable material-your antioxidant status will decline dramatically.
Antioxidants are necessary to combat free radical damage, so it’s not something to be taken lightly. If you don’t take them in, you may end up sick in the future.
And keep in mind those points as the diet comes with some risks. The ketogenic diet converts fat into energy, instead of sugar. It was first developed as an autism treatment but now the results of the diet are being studied to help Type 2 diabetes and lower their blood sugar.
